This weekend...

...was fabulous!

Friday night was Ben Rector at the House of Blues. Very interesting night. This was a Trivate event that I have been working on promoting and what not for awhile now. The show (Ben, Chris August, and Patrick Ryan Clark) was all supposed to be in the Cambridge Room. The big room that night was reserved for none other than...Marilyn Manson. Sold out show. Well, so I got there before the show to take care stuff and was quickly informed that our whole show was moved to the stage in the restaurant because Manson was using the ENTIRE Cambridge room for his dressing room. High maintanance? Maybe. Can i post this on my blog? I kind of feel like those House of Blues people are going to come after me. They weren't the most helpful people after the whole night got rearranged. Just throw the intern into the ring!!! :) Anyways, regardless of the whole show getting re-routed, it worked out ok. Alot of people showed up and Ben did great. Oh, the best part though is since we were thrown into the restaurant HOB gave us an open food and bar tab AND wrist bands to go see Manson. HA! Yes, I did go watch him. And then later snuck Mel and Heather down their with me. Shoot, when am I ever going to have the chance to see him perform? Needless to say, it was dark...border line scary. From what I hear, Mel and Heather had a pretty interesting time in the mosh pit :) And from the five minutes I was there, I think I got high. Just kidding. All and all...it was a very interesting night. At one point, Patrick Ryan Clark was singing a worship song upstairs and Manson was rockin out downstairs.

Saturday was my friends Denton and Alicia's wedding in Fort Worth. It was small, sweet, and beauitful! They are such a wonderful couple who are so in love. They each wrote their own vows ...just to give you a preview, Denton's (whose last name is Hunker) vows included the lines "...And I hope you are ready to Hunker down with the Hunker-nator" and other lines like "I love you so much...like a bunch and bananas and a bunch of elephants." Not really sure what that means, but everything was so fitting to who Denton and Alicia are. Then we all went out after to this amazing martini bar in Fort Worth, "Tin" i think is the name. We ended up getting our own private little room. Good times with good friends and family.

Here are a few pics from the weekend....

This is a shot of Manson...hard to see, but you get the idea.

And here is Ben. Love him! He did so great considering the whole night...
Mel, Heather, and I on our adventure downstairs...
Me, Alicia, and Mel at the wedding...
Mr. and Mrs. Hunker!

I've been tagged by Nat Pat!

10 years ago:
I was 11 and in 6th grade! That seems way longer than 10 years ago. But I do remember that this is right when "peddle pushers" and "3/4inch sleeve shirts" (for some reason that was revolutionary for us) were back in.

Things on my to-do list today:
-go to class (gender comm; rhetoric, culture, and ideology; intercultural comm; american sign language 4)
-come home, go running
-meet with Kristen
-American Idol!!
- meet with group for school project
-and...breathe :)

What would I do if I suddenly became a billionaire:
- First, pay off all my student loan debt, all my brothers, and extended family. I am dreading those payments coming May!
- Buy a HUGE beach house in Galveston for all my family (its a sentimental place for us)
- GIVE a ton away...
- TRAVEL!!!!!!! and take all my friends with me. We will just fly around in my private jet and travel from place to place. We will go to London and then to Delhi to minister to people and then to Hawaii and then to the Sudan to minister to more people. We will switch off between fun, personal time and intentional, missional time. weeeeeee!
- buy a freakin new car!!! can i get an amen to that one from anyone who has ridden in my car or had to help me when it has broken down!?! why wasn't this further up on my list??
-Oh, yes, and then buy out Forever 21. Shoot, I am a billionaire!! I am buying out Urban and Anthropologie. I will be set!

Three of my bad habits:
- I HATE doing dishes and unloading the dishwasher. Just ask Sarah :)
- I sleep with this little pillow. I made it when I was like 9. I think this would classify as a "bad" habit b/c I am 21 now and its pretty disgusting looking (my roomie my freshmen year, yes i brought it to college with me, nicknamed it "drooly").
- I speed. Way to much.

Five jobs I have had:
- HEB grocery bagger!! I worked there for 9 months and never got promoted to checker! Isn't that ridiculous!
- Waitress at "Texas Hill Country Deli and Grill" ( really good food if you ever drive through Bulverde/Boerne!)
-Waitress/Barista at Lighthouse Coffee and Cafe
-Advertising/Marketing girl for my old apartments (this pretty much meant me and 3 of my friends walked around passing our flyers, or slipping them under doors in the dorms, and got paid dang good for it!)
-Nanny!

Five things people don't know about me:
-I played soccer for over 12 years (4 years old all the way through high school...just intramural in college)
- I LOVE LOVE going on drives with the windows rolled down and good music on. It is kind of hard now since gas is so dang expensive!
- I can change a tire and change my own oil (thanks dad)
- I was this close to going to Nashville for college. But it all changed at the last minute!
- I HATE seafood! yuck yuck yuck!

Ok, well I think most of my friends have been tagged.
So now I tag Mel, Jenna, and Jacob.

Drum roll please for the cutest little boy....Corban Chilton

Friday night a group of girls from my old small group went out to celebrate Kelley's 21st birthday!! Here is a pic of me and Kelley...

Saturday consisted of lots of lounging around and a little studying :) Saturday night my favorite married couple, Mel and Jamey, and our friend Jen came up from Fort Worth, aka "the Fort", for church, dinner, and a movie! Such a fun night! We saw "Definitely Maybe" and I totally recommend it. So cute!

And I have to post this video of Corban and Crew demolishing my freshly made bed! (Oh, and with a little Miley Cyrus, rather loud, in the background...guilty pleasure, I admit it, don't judge me)

Oh, what to do...

So, I think I am already falling behind on this blogging business.

bom bom.

and now i am just posting a blog for the sake of posting :)

some notes:
  • "Over Her Dead Body" is a terrible movie. I do not know what people were thinking when they decided to actually put this miserable idea for a movie into writing and THEN actually make it into a movie. Mercy on them...b/c they need it. ha.
  • Awake Soy Misto from Starbucks is my new favorite drink (thanks mel!!). I suggest everyone try it!
  • I am ready to leave the country again..India or Brazil anyone??
  • And everyone check out this new artist, Ben Rector. AH-mazing!

The day has come...

So, I finally broke and made my own blog. After months of stalking all my blogging friends I decided that today was the day I would create my own. I am not really sure what to do with this thing...it will probably be just another way for me to procrastinate in writing papers...like i am doing right now :)

Anywho, quick update on my life I guess....just started my last semester of college a few weeks ago! Praise His name! Still doing the nanny job. Love sweet Rylie (pictures to come i'm sure). I have also started interning with Trivate Entertainment. LOVE IT!! Still living with the crazy Chilton family. Let me just tell you that there is never a dull moment in this household! And I guess in my free time I am trying to figure out what I will be doing with my life in 3.5 months. Ah! Thats weird.

And here is an update in pictures....( i have been kind of in a rut when it comes to taking picture lately)Mel and Jamey got married! Love them! This is all the bridesmaids/house party at the bridal luncheon.
Amy and I at the rehearsal dinner. She lives in NYC so you know its a good time when she comes to visit! These were from World Mandate (weekend). Its an AH-mazing missions conference in Waco! aka the annual "God will rock your face off" weekend

Thats all for now! Love you all my blogging friends!
